Topline Animal Massage provides Equine and Canine Massage services in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and surrounding area.
Heather Read, ESMT, CCMT is certified by Equissage, Inc. in equine and canine massage therapy and in AromaTouch® Technique from DoTerra essential oils.
Heather has more than 30 years of equine experience focusing in the study of french classical dressage. Her primary influence has been Jean-Claude Racinet and his life’s work in the study of the work of Francois Baucher. Riding in Lightness includes the understanding of the musculoskeletal system of the horse and how balance can be influenced by direct and indirect flexions of the neck and jaw. In Jean-Claude’s later work, he blended the study of equine osteopathy with dressage to understand how vertebral blockings in the horse can impact balance, gait and performance. Heather rode with Jean-Claude for more than 20 years and his work has left an indelible impression on her approach to total horse health. She is also an officer of the South Carolina Dressage & Combined Training Association (SCDCTA).
Heather has also been involved with canine rescue for more than 10 years as a volunteer, a foster home, and a former Executive Director of an animal welfare nonprofit that funded medical grants to small rescue groups around the country.
Her husband, Matthew Read, operates K9 Penn, a dog training center for personal and working canines. Her experience has been the use of canine massage and essential oils to address chakra imbalances that manifest themselves in trapped tension, particularly from abusive situations.
